The Late Sculptures

1985-1986

In 1985-1986, the final year that Springford was able to work before her eyesight failed, she made a series of small sculptures from bones and other materials, which she would assemble, photograph, then promptly dismantle in order to reuse the materials in further works. While the physical works have been destroyed, a photographic archive of the works have been preserved with the Archive.
